1.8 billion yen from K-ON!! Merchandise: TBS

TBS Holdings from Japan have announced its financial results for the first quarter in the fiscal year of 2011. In general, K-ON!! merchandise such as T-Shirts and character goods have earned in 1.8 billion yen in profits. That alone does not include licensing rights of the anime itself.

The K-ON!! phenomenon is well known among anime fans around the world, voice actress (seiyuu) from the anime have attended overseas event such as Anime Festival Asia 2009 before.
