A.C.M.E ~A Certain Magical Event~ II

Had your fun in A.C.M.E ? While Singapore might not have events such as Comiket, we do have A.C.M.E, an event that brings anime and manga fans the limited merchandise from Japan. Along with that, you get to see doujin works from the local artists, trading card games tournament and also the popular Touhou Hisoutensoku versus fighting game.

Sculpture Square

Debuting its first appearance in 2009, it is strongly supported by Genesis Frontier, jointly organised by Karashi Kanojo no Mise, watzART!, Hobby Arts, showsDoll and The Card Geeks. The second A.C.M.E was held at Sculpture Square and queues began in the night before. Were you one of them ?

Sculpture Square has a long history dating back to 1870s and going through several changes until recent day. The interiors of the building is rather spacious with the crowd checking out the merchandise and the booths in the hall.

Trading card game tournament was held in another building beside it, featuring Weiβ Schwarz and Victory Spark tournaments.

Doujin / Artworks

A total of fourteen groups/artists participated in A.C.M.E II, brought by watzART! with the aim to bring together budding local artists and artist groups to showcase their works and share their passion in comics, manga and artwork. Well of course, we have a chance to interact with a few of them :3

showDolls make an appearance again in A.C.M.E with their handmade products for BJD clothings and accessories, showcasing their lovely 27cm and 60cm Azone/Obitsu Dolls and accessories releases at their booth.

Hobby Mate showcases their accessories and fans of Gundam were there too ! Very lovely array of stuff on their booth table.

Touhou Hisoutensoku

Probably the most exciting event in A.C.M.E was the Touhou Hisoutensoku knock-out tournament, featuring 24 players pitting against each other with their favorite characters. The crowd’s simply awesome as they cheered when lethal combo moves were performed.

Players had the choice to play with the keyboard or HRAP3 joystick and warm-up practices were made. All battle stages were allowed in the competition.
