Held at Scape on the Halloween weekend was the Haru 5th Anniversary Party with cosplay, karaoke, performances and just all around fun!
Sadly, this reporter was only able to make it on the second day so nothing on the karaoke and first round of cosplay competition here. =D
*UPDATE*
I have added a few cosplayer photos into the gallery =3
Nevertheless, there was still fun to be had for day 2 with booths where one could catch balloon yo-yos (so Natsumatsuri-ish =D) and try on yukatas.
There was even a free photography booth set up by Vince123123 and Iamacow for anyone who wanted a go.
One of the highlights for the party was of course the Haru Cafe, boasting some bishie butlers (and a maid or two).
I’d say the cafe ambiance was pretty good, what with the glass walled room and appropriately decorated tables.
The butlers did a pretty good job at receiving their guests, playing games with them, and other butler-ish duties so I’d say kudos to that. =3
Of course, lets not forget the stage events.
MCs were giving out free coupons and tickets to anyone willing enough to step on stage and do something (embarrassing).
Not too many willing souls but those that did had their fun. =D
There were also singing performances by Haru Stars Noriko (Lacus Clyne) and Drew (Mr Yui).
Sweet guitar and lovely singing. =3
The butlers from Haru cafe also came down and up on stage every now and then to spice up the party.
And of course there’s the round 2 cosplay and best-dressed competitions.
For the best-dressed competition (Japanese subculture theme), Mr Golden Hair Rocker (sorry, never did catch the name ^^;) came out in a well deserved first place with his showmanship.
You can check out the pictures of the other contestants in the gallery. They did a great job as well.
I must say I was quite surprised by the gore lolita. Scary D=
And the winner for the 2 day cosplay competition was finally decided as Eden, cosplaying as Zero with his awesome performance using music from “Burger Dance” by DJ Otzi.
Congrats to Celine and Desirae for winning 2nd and Karei for winning 3rd place as well.
And as expected, the competition ended with an encore performance by Zero where everyone joined in the Burger Dance.
You can catch more photos of the cosplayers in the gallery.
It was great fun and all I have left to say is to echo the MC and hope for a 6th anniversary next year. =3
Check out the pictures in the gallery bellow. I didn’t post them all to save you guys your fingers from all the scrolling. =3
