Well, a brief snippet of it, that is. This latest PV for Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum uses the recently-announced Perfume single as a background track in the latter half of the video (from 01:13).
The news that Perfume would be performing ‘Mirai no Museum’, the theme song to the forthcoming Doraemon movie was first announced right here in Singapore, when the three-piece techno-pop group held a concert at Scape as the last stop to their “Perfume World Tour 1st” Asia tour (read our report of the concert here).
Conceived in part to commemorate the 55th anniversary of TV Asahi (of which Doraemon’s studio Shin-ei Animation is a subsidiary), the plot in Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum begins when a villain (known only as “Kaitou DX” or “Robber DX”) steals the bell that Doraemon always carries on him.
This apparently robs Doraemon of his vast intellect, eventually reducing him to a regular cat who cannot speak in human tongue. To retrieve Doraemon’s bell, Nobita and gang decides to visit Doraemon’s “Museum of Hidden Tools”, where the bell – or a copy of it – might be found. Whilst at the museum, the gang discovers the very first prototype for Dokodemo Door, amidst other fun gadgets.
Doraemon: Nobita no Himitsu Dougu Museum opens in theatres in Japan March 9, 2013.
Perfume’s new single and theme song to the movie, Mirai no Museum, is also slated to be released on March 9 next year.
