Miku Hatsune Romeo and Cinderella 500x339 Hatsune Miku featured songs election: These are the current top 30

I know, I know. Why couldn’t Sega have just revealed the results for nine more songs and call it the top 39.

Regardless, the Sega feat. Hatsune Miku Project team has decided to give fans a first-hand look at how their favourite songs are doing in the recently unveiled Project Diva Sousenkyo (Project Diva featured songs election), which the developers will reference when deciding which songs to remake for the PS3 and PS Vita version of the game. At the moment, Vocaloid producer doriko’s Romeo and Cinderella is sitting at the top of the charts!

Just a quick word before we get to the charts: Like we explained in our previous post, a “remake” here refers to Sega taking a previously featured Project Diva song, and giving it a brand new spin by making a new promo video and musical note chart (the sequence of buttons you have to hit) different from the one in its original PD instalment.

So when we say remake, we don’t mean this:

Why your votes matter

In case you’re wondering, yes, the PS3 and PS Vita version is exactly how Sega has worded it on the Sousenkyo voting page. The developer did not say that the re-made songs would necessarily be released as DLC for Project Diva f (PS Vita) and Diva F (PS3). Because they have not decided how these songs are going to come in yet (the specifics will be announced when they’re ready to, according to the poll’s rules).

But obviously there are two possibilities here: the songs could either come out as paid DLC for Project Diva f/F, or come in as part of a next game (don’t get too excited; they haven’t said they’ll make a sequel yet).

In any case, if you’re a Hatsune Miku or Project Diva fan, and haven’t been putting in your votes on a daily basis (bookmark the page!), then consider today’s early results review Sega’s way of politely reminding you fans that your vote matters.

You can vote for one song everyday (at 12 midnight JST you get a fresh vote) untill 15 January 2013 at 6PM JST.

Do let us know in the comments which song you’re voting for!
