Kicking off a new year of various Japanese festivals, NUS’s Japanese Studies Society (JSS) will be presenting their annual Japanese Cultural Festival & Japanese Cultural Night (JCF & JCN).
The theme for this year events is Matsuri!, which the JSS aims to provide exposure to NUS students AND public to Japanese culture, both traditional and modern.
During the two days of Japanese Cultural Festival bazaar, you will get to buy Japanese related goods, such as tidbits and plushies, and collectibles, all of which are directly imported from the land of the Rising Sun! Not forgetting activities, like the Special Character Cafe and lunchtime performances by NUS Sado Club. Also, the Society will be offering photography service while attendees get to try out different Japanese outfits! With such exciting activities line-up, be sure to be there early to avoid disappointments!
As for Japanese Cultural Night, expect an array of Japanese traditional performances, such as Taiko, Buyo, Martial Arts, and Koto. Not forgetting the modern J-Pop culture, local J-Rock bands Syrus Fall and Bikkurishita! will be jamming out various Japanese poplular tunes though the night.
The Japanese Cultural Festival will be held on 28th to 30th January, 9.30am to 6pm, and the Japanese Cultural Night will held one night only at 1st February, 6.30pm to 9.30pm, at NUS Central Forum and NUS Thearette, respectively.
