Seiyuu and singer Maaya Sakamoto has previously worked with prominent composers such as Yoko Kanno in her previous tracks and albums. No wonder her songs are always amazing. And if you have been patiently waiting for her return since the release of You can’t catch me in January 2011, rejoice and be glad! She will be back with her own songs for her 8th studio album, Singer Songwriter, to be released on March 27.
The upcoming album will feature eight tracks—all written, composed and produced by Sakamoto Maaya herself. Aside from her self-produced songs, a remix of Everywhere (from her third compilation album) and a rearrangement of Chikai (from her second mini-album) will be included. The song arrangements are by Kouno Shin and Watanabe Zentaro (Fate/stay night).
A limited edition DVD will also be released. It will include the music video of the lead track as well as a documentary that features the recording and songwriting of Maaya Sakamoto.
A few days after the album’s launch, Sakamoto Maaya will be holding hall tours in three cities.
