What has exotic supercars, Itashas, Cosplay showcases and Race Queens have in common? The prestigious Tokyo Auto Salon will be held in Singapore at the Sands Expo in Marina Bay Sands come this April.
Heading the press conference are top figures in the media and automotive industry.

- Patrick Yong, head of Strategic Marketing in Mediacorp
- Chung See Liang, President of MUSE Group
- Tan Teng Lip, President of National Sporting Association (Singapore Motor Sports Association)

Masaharu Sakai, General Manager of San-Ei Shobo Publishing (Tokyo Auto Salon), gave a speech of the myriad of activities to see and do at Tokyo Auto Salon - ”Tokyo Auto Salon is a festival to featuring customized cars. Visitors are not only able to view exciting customised cars, it is also filled with activities relating to customise cars culture, ranging from car accessories, fashion items and clothing, model cars, auto hobbies books and fanclubs; and also music and video, with race queens to add glitz and glamour, and demo runs by cars.”
Held earlier this month at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, the three day event attracted over 250,000 automotive fans. Of course, modified cars decal with anime characters (also known as Itasha) will be present, as one such car was present during the press conference. Decked out with Sena Kashiwazaki images from the anime series Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, we hope more themed cars will be available at Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013. Other Japanese contents in the event include J-idols and a cosplay showcase.
Not to mention Saki Tachibana, who is one of the confirmed Race Queens from Japan that will be at Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013, is also the race queen for Good Smile Racing’s Super GT since 2010. She is also the Race Queen of the Year for 2011 and 2012.
