In this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Gust is teasing fans with a silhouette of a female character who’s wearing a miniskirt and holding in her right hand a magical cane; she could very well be the star of the JRPG maker’s next Atelier game.
The tease is a plug for Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival 2013, which will take place once again this year in Akihabara’s Belle Salle event hall (and expanding into the UDX building) on March 17 and 18. All will be revealed at a “Gust presents ‘Atelier 2013′ presentation stage’ on the 17th.
Apart from explaining what the silhouette is all about, the presentation will also discuss Atelier Meruru Plus just before its March 20 Japan release date, with Apprentice of Arland trilogy’s character designer Mel Kishida (Red Data Girl, Hanasaku Iroha) attending as a guest.
If the silhouette is indeed a tease for a new Atelier game, this wouldn’t be the first time Gust has chosen to unveil their next game at Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival. Last year they pulled off a similar stunt, teasing fans with a silhouette of an Atelier-esque character for a new game that was at that point referred to as A14, before taking the stage at Dengeki Thanksgiving Festival 2012 on March 18 to announce the new this to be Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Twilight Land, the 14th game in the long-running JRPG franchise.
