Probably one of the shortest press conferences we have attended, SGCafe caught a glimpse of one of the forefathers of JRock in Singapore. We were greeted with 4 of the members as Ryuichi couldn’t attend the press conference due to circumstances, but he did left a message to perform to the best of his abilities during the live concert tomorrow. The attending members INORAN, J, Shinya and SUGIZO said similar introductions, and appreciated the chance to be able to perform for the first time in Singapore.
When asked about the impressions they have of Singapore thus far and where they would love to go and eat, INORAN answered that it is the first time in Singapore, and have yet to fully absorb the sights and sounds after arriving in the evening yesterday, hoping to be able to do so during his time in Singapore. J replied that he was really impressed with the scenery between the airport and town, and felt that the greenery and modern-ness is a good match. He also jokingly said that he ‘fell in love’ with the Merlion.
SUGIZO slept at the hotel right upon arrival as he was tired from the journey, but from recommendations he is interested to go to Skypark Marina Bay Sands’ Ku De Ta. He also asked the press on local food recommendations, which we mentioned Chilli Crab, Laksa and Chicken Rice. They were initially curious if most local food is spicy due to the first two recommendations, but we assured the band that it is not the case.
Due to the fan meet and the subsequent interview sessions, LUNA SEA had to end the press conference earlier for the rest of their day’s programs. Despite being legends in their performing history, we can tell that LUNA SEA was earnest and eager to perform for their fans, as well as experience Singapore’s local attractions and food.
