At first glance, rain may look like a typical PS3 action game — until you realize the characters are all invisible and the only thing you can see is the rain bouncing off of them.
rain is being developed by the monster combination of Sony’s Japan Studio (Gravity Daze), PlayStation C.A.M.P! (Tokyo Jungle), and Acquire (Akiba’s Trip). The story is centered around a boy who follows the silhouette of girl into a world that is visible only in the rain. He soon discovers that the girl is being hunted by monsters, and he sets out on his own adventure, which you can get a glimpse of from the video below.
Not only is the story intriguing, but the HD graphics and ambient soundtrack create a mysteriously alluring atmosphere. rain is scheduled to be released sometime this year. The developers will give another preview at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week.
