The Neptunia series was a hot topic at Dengeki’s Thanksgiving Festival on Sunday, since members of Compile Heart announced two brand new games, previewed another new game, and shared information on the upcoming anime and manga.
The Three Brand New Games
The first new game announced is “Hyper Faith Noire Wild God Black Heart”, which, as the title implies, features Noire as the protagonist. There were rumors that the PlayStation-based goddess would get her own game ever since she won a popularity contest in 2011, but fans were still shocked and ecstatic when the game was revealed. No details were revealed other than that it will be released for the PS Vita this year.
The second newly announced game was actually revealed at the very end of the presentation, when the words “2013, Neptunia, restart” appeared on-screen, followed by a logo for “Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1″. There was also the PS Vita logo, but we know nothing else about this teased game.
The two game announcements were exciting, but we can’t forget about the game that was teased just one week ago. That game, of course, is Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP.
This is an idol raising game in which the cute goddesses of Gamindustri sing and dance their way to fame. It’s a drastic shift for both the RPG series and the characters (well, maybe not the characters). On the road to becoming top idols, the player will help the goddesses raise skills through practice sessions, as well as arrange performances, deciding elements like stage effects and costumes.
Not only that, but Compile Heart is collaborating with Tamsoft, who helped create the PS3 dating sim Touch Shiyo! Love Application. With Tamsoft responsible for the 3D modeling, the goddesses will look better than ever before.
Idol Neptunia PP will be released on June 20, while the other two games will probably come later. There is a total of three Neptunia games coming to the PS Vita this year, but the craze doesn’t stop there.
The Anime and Manga
By now, you may already know of the Hyperdimension Neptunia anime airing this summer. We now know that the opening theme will be performed by nao, and the ending theme by the idol group Afilia Saga, both of whom also performed the opening and ending themes of the game Hyperdimension Neptunia V. Attendants at Dengeki’s Thanksgiving Festival also saw a short trailer, although it was mute (the event coordinators sure know how to tease).
In addition to the anime, there will also be a manga adaptation titled “Hyperdimension Neptunia: Hallo New World”, drawn by Mikage Baku and serialized in Dengeki Maoh. You can see a sample picture by the artist below.
The ACE Products
There’s a whole lot of Neptunia goodness coming this year, but we still have to wait until June before the first game, Idol Neptunia PP comes out. In case you can’t wait that long to sate your apetite, there will be these Hyperdimension Neptunia products available at Anime Contents Expo on March 30 and 31. If you’re going there, be sure to check these out. If you’re not going, be sure to check the online auction site of your choice.

There has been a huge rush of Hyperdimension Neptunia news, but there’s still a ton of details to come. If you’re a Neptunia fan, this is guaranteed to be an awesome, albeit expensive, year.
