With the mecha anime Ginga Kikoutai: Majestic Prince coming early next month, the studio Dogakobo has aired a new trailer with sample high-speed action scenes and an excerpt of the opening song.
Majestic Prince is based on the manga of the same name by Rando Ayamine (GetBackers). The story is centered around genetically engineered teens called “Princes”, who are trained to pilot giant robots to defend humans from hostile aliens. The protagonist is one such Prince named Izuru who is assigned to Team Rabbit, a group of underdogs also known as the “Disappointing Five”. Take a look at Team Rabbit’s struggles, accompanied by Natsumi Kon’s performance of “Watashi wa Souzou Suru”.
As you can tell from the ad at the end of the trailer, the opening single will be released on April 17, along with ending single, “Sayonaratteiu”, performed by Chiaki Ishikawa.
Ginga Kikoutai: Majestic Prince will begin airing on April 4, but those lucky enough to live in Japan will be able to attend an early screening on March 29 at the Odaiba Cinema Mediage in Tokyo’s Minato ward, where visitors can watch the first three episodes on the big screen and attend a talk show with the cast of the anime.
