If you’re a fan of romance anime, you’ll want to keep your eyes on the anime adaptation of the popular dating sim White Album 2.
The story of White Album 2 is centered around Haruki Kitahara, a member of his school’s light music club. When he finds that the date of the school festival is approaching and there is only one other member, Haruki seeks out students to join the light music club and manages to recruit the singer Setsuna Ogisa and the pianist Kazusa Touma. As they devote themselves to preparing for the school festival, they bond and share memories together, unaware of the incoming tragedy…
White Album 2 was originally a pair of adult dating sims developed by Leaf and released in 2010 and 2011. A non-adult version of White Album 2 was developed by Aquaplus and released for the PS3 on 2012.
The anime, the full title of which is “White Album 2: Shiawase no Mukougawa” (The Other Side of Happiness), is being animated by the studio Satelight. The scenario writer and music composer of the game are also working on the anime, and the cast will be the same as the game. Here are the currently revealed staff and cast members.
- Supervisor/Scriptwriter: Fumiaki Maruto
- Composer: Naoya Shimokawa
- Haruki Kitahara: Takahiro Mizushima (Taichi from Kokoro Connect)
- Setsuna Ogisa: Madoka Yonezawa (Ui from K-ON!)
- Kazusa Touma: Hitomi Nabatame (Saori from OreImo)
The anime adaptation was announced at the White Album 2 Special Encore event that was held on Sunday in Shinjuku, which featured a talk session with the cast and a concert. Since the game is so popular in Japan, it seems that romance and music fans have something to look forward to this fall.
