The third movie in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo ended its run in Japanese theaters when Wald9 Cinema in Shinjuku made it’s last screening of the movie on the 19th of April. The movie was released in Japanese theaters last year on November 17th. During it’s run, a total of 3,826,472 tickets were sold, grossing a total of 5,267,370,000 yen in the box office.
Wald9 Cinema which is the main theater for Evangelion Q has been screening the movie since it’s premiere last year. In the 154 days since then, a total of 155,397 tickets have been sold, grossing a total of 251,084,100 yen in the box office. These numbers make it the highest grossing movie in Wald9 Cinema’s history.
Currently, Evangelion Q is the second highest grossing anime movie of the year. The highest grossing anime movie for 2013 is currently held by ONE PIECE FILM Z at 6.82 billion yen. Third is the Doraemon Movie Nobita no Himitsudougu Museum at 3.78 billion yen.
