Despite the ongoing world tour, J-pop star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu continues spreading Japan’s kawaii culture actively, this time through a national tour of her phenomenal costumes!
Previously in Roppongi Hills, the Kyary Pamyu Pamuseum pop-up exhibition gathered about 20,000 people over a span of 3 weeks and has been very well-received. This spring, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s first large-scale outfit exhibition, ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamuseum’ would be making a tour around Japan, starting with Osaka and Nagoya.
On display are costumes worn in Yasutaka Nakata produced music videos such as “Fashion Monster”, “Tsukema Tsukeru”, “Furisodeshon”, the gigantic costume worn at Kohaku Uta Gassen which generated immense hype, and even stage sets of Kyary’s one-girl live shows. Audio guides with Kyary’s recorded voice in the form of headsets attached with big ribbons(also known as ‘MoshiMoshi’) enhance the tour experience and allow both the young and old to immerse themselves into the charm of Kyary’s unique and exciting world.
With the increasing awareness and interest of Singaporeans towards Harajuku fashion, let’s hope that one day, we will see this exhibition right on our shores!
