Through several recently aired TV anime series, we’ve had a peek at what Japanese high school life is like, along with what the students spend their time doing in their respective school clubs. There’s the Karuta Club (Chihayafuru), the Chorus Club (Tari Tari), the Classic Literature Club (Hyouka) and more.
Then, of course, there’s the Kitakubu or “go home after school” club. A term used for students who aren’t participating in any extracurricular activities at school. Instead, they go straight home.
But what if, an actual “go home after school club” actually existed? Have you ever wondered about how active such a club can get?
The activities of the “go home after school club” can finally be witnessed in the upcoming anime adaptation of Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku, a school life comedy manga by Kuroha.
Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku centers on school girls who are members of an actual “Kitakubu”.
The members include:
Sakura Doumyouji, the free-spirited club president;
Botan Oohagi, the successor of an ancient martial arts school;
Claire Kokonoe, an incredibly rich daughter of the Kokonoe Zaibatsu’s head;
Karin Touno, a freshman who invites Natsuki to join the club; and
Natsuki Andou, a new member who knows nothing about how the others spend their time in an actual Kitakubu
Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku starts airing in Japan this July.
