Tomomi Itano, the AKB48 member who announced her graduation from the all-female idol group last February, is preparing for her solo single. This time, she’s letting fans – particularly the ones with excellent dancing skills – participate in the activities of her upcoming single 1%.
It has been announced that Itano will be holding a dance contest entitled “Itano Tomomi ‘1%’ Dance Trial 2013”. Participants are to post their video entries via YouTube. The reference is the dance seen on the “1% (Dance Trial Edit)” sample video.
Entrants can either copy the moves or add some flair by devising their own choreography. Everyone is allowed to join the contest. Participants can either go with a solo or group performance.
“Itano Tomomi ‘1%’ Dance Trial 2013” includes an elimination round and a final round to be held in Tokyo. A total of three winners will be given these prizes:
- A Prize: A chance to appear on the music video of Itano’s next solo work and a 500,000 JPY (6075.50 SGD) worth of cash prize.
- B Prize: Media appearances including dance magazines.
- C Prize: Autographed goodies
Each winner will also take part in “CLUV Tomo. ~DANCE TRIAL 2013 Edition~“ with Itano. This special event is organized for fans who will buy the single.
Details on the “Itano Tomomi ‘1%’ Dance Trial 2013” will be revealed at a later date via a special website.
So if you think you got the moves and you’re in Japan for the next couple of months, why not try out for this contest? Nothing’s more exciting than participating in the activities of your idol.
Itano’s 4th solo single, 1%, is slated for a release on June 12.
