Game developer and publisher Level-5 announced today on their website the launching of their new label UNIPLAY. The new label will be spearheading Level-5’s foray into the smartphones gaming market which has seen a boom in recent years. In conjunction with this announcement, Level-5 also took the chance to reveal three of six planned titles to be released under the UNIPLAY label. The three titles are Wonder Flick, Chikyuu Kaimetsuteki B-kyu Kanojyo (地球壊滅的B級彼女) and Majin Station (魔神STATION).
Wonder Flick is a fantasy RPG and appears to be their flagship title as it is headed by Akihiro Hino (日野晃博) who will serve as the title’s planner, producer and director. He had previously worked on the Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven series. Famous game music composer Nobuo Uematsu (植松伸夫) will be composing the music for the title. While Takuzou Nagano (長野拓造) and Nao Ikeda (池田奈緒) will be responsible for the monster and character designs respectively.
Chikyuu Kaimetsuteki B-kyuu Kanojo is a slot battle RPG where players lead a group of female characters with special abilities known as B-mode against invading extra-terrestrial lifeforms. The title uses slot machines as a mechanic to allow players to activate the female characters B-mode abilities when certain combinations are achieved. Chikyuu Kaimetsuteki B-kyuu Kanojo features the voice talent of Yoshino Nanjou (南條愛乃) vocalist of fripSide, Megumi Toyoguchi (豊口めぐみ) who played Winry Rockbell in Full Metal Alchemist, Yuu Kobayashi (小林ゆう) who plays Sasha Braus in Shingeki no Kyojin, Kaori Mizuhashi (水橋かおり) who played Mami Tomoe in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Kana Asumi (阿澄佳奈) who played Popura Taneshima in the anime series Working!
Majin Station is dubbed as an MORPG, a multiplayer online RPG. Players assume the role of the 69th Abe no Seimei summoning spirits to capture all the train stations in Japan while riding the Demonic Train (魔列車). The title will allow players to summon historical figures such as Oda Nobunaga, Miyamoto Musashi, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Sakamoto Ryoma. The title will be directed by Jirou Ishii (イシイジロウ) with character designs by Yuusuke Kozaki (コザキユースケ) and Majin and concept art by Takeshi Oga (緒賀岳志).
All three titles revealed are scheduled to be release in 2013 on the iOS and Android platforms with Chikyuu Kaimetsuteki B-kyuu Kanojo being the first to be release in June for the iOS and July for the Android. All three titles will also be following the free-to-play with micro-transactions for items business model.
