NHK World, the international arm of Japan’s leading broadcaster, is giving fans in Singapore a chance to meet SeaA’s Valerie and singer-songwriter Joe Inoue – for free.
SeaA, of course, is the anisong artiste behind CarfFight!! Vanguard: Asia Circuit Hen’s ending theme as well as Toriko: Gurume Monster’s ED Deli-Deli Delicious, and Joe Inoue’s work include Naruto Shippuden’s fourth OP, Closer.
Fans who’d like to attend the event will have to apply for tickets first, however, as the fan meeting will be ticketed and there is a limit on the number of people NHK World will be able to accommodate.
The fan meeting will be held two Wednesdays from now, on May 22, and take place 7.30PM to 9PM (doors open at 7PM), at the Singapore City Center.
Do note that in the event that there are too many ticket applications, the organisers will randomly draw applicants from a hat. Thankfully, however, each ticket admits up to three people (1 person + 2 guests), so for the best chance of admission, coordinate with your friends or other fans. Successful applicants will be notified on May 17.
For details on how you can get a ticket, head over to the fan meeting application page here.
J-Melo is an English language programme on NHK World that invites its international audience into the world of Japanese music. It airs every Sunday at 15:10 hours UTC/GMT time (so in Singapore that’s 11.10PM Sunday night), viewable online at http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/index.html and through all the other platforms NHK World is on – there’s an iOS app, for instance.
This week’s episode (May 12) puts the spotlight on J-Pop group End of the World. And the episode following that (May 19), everyone’s favourite all-girls J-rock band Scandal. J-rock group Alice Nine appears on the episode after that (May 26).
