j stars 500x278 Two new characters for Shonen Jumps 45th anniversary fighting game, J stars Victory VS announced

Japanese blog site Remoon has reveled that upcoming PS3/ PS Vita game J Stars Victory VS will have to new additional characters earlier today. When the game was announced earlier this year, only four characters were revealed; Son Goku from Dragon Ball, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto and Toriko from Toriko. All four are the main characters in their respective mangas and are finally set to battle it out with each other in the video game!

The characters revealed are:

Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X)

Now, the announcement of both characters come at no surprise at all! Both Ichigo and Kenshin are the main characters of two of Shonen Jump’s most popular mangas and both are fan favorites! Both swordsmen are known for their speed and agility and would be more than a match for the likes of Goku, right? Just as DC fighting game “Injustice: Gods Among Us” begs the question of who will win in a fight between DC characters, J Stars Victory VS asks who will win in a fight between Shonen Jump’s finest?

So let’s do a role call shall we? A Saiyan, a Ninja, a Pirate, a Gourmet Hunter, a Samurai and a Shinigami… Who knows who else will be announced in the future? A Hunter named… I dunno… Um… GON?! A goofy samurai named GINTOKI?! A delinquent named OGA?! or even a basket ball player named Kuroko (hey! Phoenix Wright appeared in Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom so we will never know…). Or maybe a blast from the past like Kinnikuman?! Who knows right?

J Stars Victory VS is a fighting game to be released for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The game will be released in celebration of Shonen Jump’s 45th anniversary.
