With the third movie’s premiere looming, several exclusive Madoka Magica-themed soft drinks and vending machines were seen in the over-the-counter retail stores of hobby manufacturer Kotobukiya.
Kotobukiya retail stores in Akihabara in Tokyo, Nihonbashi in Osaka and Fukuoka Tenjin in Fukuoka all have their new Madoka Magica vending machines. Each vending machine sports a unique design different to each store with each vending machine selling limited edition Madoka Magica themed Mitsuya Cider. These special soft drinks are a result of the collaboration between the anime and Asahi Soft Drinks who manufacture Mitsuya Cider. Each limited edition 500 ml Matsuya Cider can costs 120 yen each.
The Mitsuya Cider cans come in four different designs; Madoka Kaname, Kyoko Sakura and Sayaka Miki, Mami Tomoe and Homura Akemi. Mitsuya Cider is a Japanese carbonated soft drink produced by Asahi Soft Drinks. Its taste is described to be a cross between Ginger Ale and Sprite.
