When somebody makes it big, it is natural for a hometown to be proud of their home grown hero. With Attack on Titan becoming one of the most popular anime and manga series today, the series creator and manga author Hajime Isayama‘s hometown of Hita has announced that they will be conducting a very special cosplay event.

Hita, which is located on Oita prefecture is home to a gigantic wall-like structure known as the Oyama Dam. This imposing landmark will be the venue for the cosplay event and it is very fitting as well since the dam walls would make a fine setting that would be almost be like the anime’s.

The location is very ideal not just because of the presence of the dam but also because of the location’s natural environment. The dam walls as well as the trees surrounding the Oyama Reservoir truly scream Attack on Titan.

The event ill be held on September 29, Sunday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. There will be a 1,500 yen fee for those wanting to join the event but this fee already includes the food and drinks that will be provided to you should you join. There will also be parking space as well as some changing rooms provided for the cosplayers.
