Japanese karaoke chain JOYSOUND has finally released their annual music rankings for 2013 and of course, anime and vocaloid songs are a huge part of them.

anisong 500x249 Yoko Takahashi, Linked Horizon and Hatsune Miku big winners in JOYSOUNDs annual karaoke music rankings

The karaoke joint didn’t just include this year’s new songs but the classics as well, as the anime song (anisong) rankings have shown.

1- Cruel Angel’s Thesis by Yoko Takahashi (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

2- Guren no Yumiya by Linked Horizon (Attack on Titan)

3- Lion by May’N and Megumi Nakajima (Macross Frontier)

4- Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari by Supercell (Bakemonogatari)

5- Lie (Uso) by SID (Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood)

6- Only My Railgun by fripside (A Certain Scientific Railgun)

7- God Knows by Aya Hirano (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

8- Genesis of Aquarion (Sousei no Aquarion) by Akino (Genesis of Aquarion)

9- Maji Love 1000% by ST☆RISH (UtaPri)

10- Butterfly by Kouji Wada (Digimon Adventure 01)

Looks like people went old school with their choices with classic 90’s anime songs Cruel Angel’s Thesis and Butterfly proving they can still be popular and are still as timeless as ever. The only song to make it to JOYSOUND’s top 10 from 2013 is of course Guren no Yumiya which has become extremely popular as of late.

Of course, Joysound has not forgotten about Vocaloid which has proven its popularity worldwide.

SenbonzakuraMiku1 500x353 Yoko Takahashi, Linked Horizon and Hatsune Miku big winners in JOYSOUNDs annual karaoke music rankings

1- Senbonzakura by White Flame (Korousa-P) feat. Hatsune Miku

2- Noushou Sakuretsu Gaaru by Rerulili feat. Hatsune Miku and GUMI

3- Matryoshka by Hachi feat. Hatsune Miku and GUMI

4- Ama no Jaku bu 164 feat. GUMI

5- Mayfly Days by Jin feat. Hatsune Miku

6- Ii Aru Fan Kurabu (1, 2 Fanclub) by Mikito-P feat. GUMI and Rin Kagamine

7- Roku Chounen to Ichiya Monogatari by Kemu

8- Tokyo Teddy Bear by Neru

9- Panda Hero by Hachi feat. GUMI

10- Melt by Supercell

Only two vocaloid characters have made it to the top 5 this year and it’s no surprise that they are Hatsune Miku and GUMI. On the songs side however, the dark lyrics yet upbeat rhythm of Senbonzakura seems to have topped all other songs from Jin’s Mayfly days to Supercell’s Melt.

Meanwhile, Visual Kei “Air Rock Band” Golden Bomber takes the over-all Karaoke rankings with their song Memeshikute which topped the anisong winner Cruel Angel’s Thesis which took the #2 over-all spot and the Vocaloid winner Senbonzakura which took the #3 spot. Guren no Yumiya meanwhile took 6th place in the over-all rankings.
