Voice actors and manga authors will be heading to Taiwan next month for the Taipei International Book Exhibition 2014 and the Taipei International Anime Fair 2014. With news of the participation of Hajime Isayama’s as well as the two Free! voice actors, fans have immediately went online for the reservations which are filled up to capacity in merely 30 seconds. The events have truly attracted fans from all over Taiwan who are very excited to see either the brains behind Attack on Titan or the voices behind Free!
More than 6,000 people applied online to meet Isayama which will be held in a booth with only an 85-person capacity. Hajime Isayama’s internationally acclaimed manga, Attack on Titan has managed to sell more than a million copies in Taiwan so it is hardly surprising that fans are more than excited to meet the author.
Female fans on the other hand also rushed to meet Free! voice actors Nobunaga Shimazaki and Tsubasa Yonaga. Shimazaki is the voice behind Haruka Nanase while Yonaga voices Nagisa Hazuki. The online applications were filled to capacity in only 30 seconds with a majority of female fans applying.
The applications were online and only one application is allowed per IP address so it is quite clear that there were that many people who were excited to meet their Japanese idols. This is to prevent the applications to be sold or traded.
The Taipei International Book Exhibition 2014 will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hall 1 from February 5-10, 2014.
