Eureka Seven is arguably one of the greatest mecha franchises in Japan. Now, BONES has revealed that they will be making a new movie trilogy, titled Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution. They even revealed a new PV which features the new theme song, “Acperience 7” by German electronic music duo Hardfloor.
The films will explore “The First Summer of Love” phenomenon, which occurred a decade before the first series begins. It will also feature the same basic story as the first anime, but will also have an original ending. It will feature re-recorded lines, as well as a few scenes that have been redone, and several new scenes not found in the original.
The first film will premiere in 2017, the second in 2018, and the third and final film in 2019. Much of the staff will be returning as well, with chief director Tomoki Kyoda at the helm of the project. Scriptwriter Dai Sato, character designer Kenichi Yoshida, and mechanical designer Shoji Kawamori are also returning.
