Studio Gokumi, the studio behind Seiren and Yuki Yuna is a Hero, has revealed that they are making an original anime, titled Toji no Miko or “The Shrine Maiden Swordwielders”. They also launched an official website, as well as its own twitter page. Both of which reveal the anime’s visual:
However, the website hasn’t revealed the anime’s format yet. This means that we still don’t know whether this would be a TV anime, a movie, an OVA, or an ONA. We do know that it’s an original anime is set in a world where beings known as “aratama” exist, and they threaten the world. To fight these “aratama”, young shrine maidens known as “Toji” serve as agents of the police to combat them. They are authorized to carry swords, and they are also serving as government officials. Of course, most of these Toji are still students, and they belong to five elite schools, which are about to compete in a tournament, where they send their best Toji to compete.
Cyborg 009: Call of Justice director, Koudai Kakimoto, is at the helm of this project as its director. The [email protected]: Cinderella Girls’ Tatsuya Takahashi is writing the scripts, while Grimoire of Zero light novel illustrator, Yoshinori Shizuma, is doing the character designs. More details about this upcoming original anime will be revealed soon.
