Looks like we’re in for even more cheap Japanese candy goodness, as Shogakukan’s combined 37th and 38th issue of Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine has unveiled that Dagashi Kashi will have a second season. According to the scans, this new anime will be coming in 2018.
Tezuka Productions will now be animating the series, while feel., which animated the first season, is credited with setting cooperation. Meanwhile. Satoshi Kuwabara is now the new director, with Young Black Jack’s Nana Miura now acting as the new character designer. This means that expect the characters to look a little differently from the first season.
However, with the staff changes, it seems that the cast might remain the same, as the magazine also confirmed that Ayana Taketatsu will reprise her role as Hotaru Shidare. More details about the second season will be revealed in the days to come.
