Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga is getting itself a live-action movie. Now, as we head closer to its December 1 premiere, the official Warner Brothers Japan YouTube channel has revealed a brand new trailer. The trailer features the theme song, “Kimi no Soba ni Iru yo”, as well as plenty of action. However, there was something which really stood out to the fans of the original anime and manga…

A certain little girl and a certain dog appeared, and yes, one of anime’s most infamous villains, Shou Tucker, was also there. The trailer confirms what fans have been fearing, and it promises to bring back a scene which will break fans’ hearts one again…

The movie is based on the hit manga by Hiromu Arakawa, and it will follow Edward Elric, played by Ryousuke Yamada, and his brother Alphonse. It also stars Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell, while Dean Fujioka plays Roy Mustang. As for Alphonse, he will be a completely CGI character. The film is directed by live-action Ping Pong film director, Fumihiko Sori, and was previously filmed in Italy.

And when the movie premieres on December 1, several participating movie theaters will be distributing a special Fullmetal Alchemist manga written and illustrated by FMA and Silver Spoon creator, Hiromi Arakawa!
