During the Jump Festa 2018 event, we finally got more news about that upcoming American Live-Action One Piece TV series. This is because producer Marty Adelstein made a video call during the event’s One Piece panel discussion. In his video call, Adelstein stated that the live-action TV series will start with the East Blue arc and will “broaden from there.”

Adelstein stated that he discussed the project with mangaka Eiichiro Oda personally, and also stated that the series promises to create “a true One Piece”.

When the project was announced, Adelstein stated back in July that “I am enthusiastic to give my all to make One Piece succeed. I think this project could set a new record for the highest production cost in television drama history. The work’s worldwide fame merits this scale of production”. As for Eiichiro Oda, he said that one of his conditions for the live-action was that it “will never betray the fans who have supported me for 20 years.”
