Alternate world or Isekai light novels are a dime a dozen, however, many consider author Fuse and artist Mitz Vah’s That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) a unique and different approach. Now, this popular light novel series is finally getting its own (and long-awaited) TV anime adaptation. The wrap-around jacket for the light novels’ Volume 12 made the announcement official:
The cover also revealed that the TV anime will premiere in Fall 2018. Yen Press, which licences the light novel series, describes the story as:
Lonely thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is stuck in a dead-end job, unhappy with his mundane life, but after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a fantasy realm…as a slime monster! As he acclimates to his goopy new existence, his exploits with the other monsters set off a chain of events that will change his new world forever!
So far, not much news has been revealed about the new anime adaptation, but do expect the staff to make more announcements soon. This includes the studio, staff, and cast, as well as the exact premiere date.
