In a massive collaboration three years in the making, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and animation studio, Kamikaze Douga, have all teamed up to produces the new anime movie, Batman Ninja. In the new movie, Batman and his Batfamily must stop The Joker, together with several members of Batman’s rouges gallery, as they time travel to feudal Japan, right in the middle of the Samurai era. Sony will be releasing the anime to watch for the PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Network and PS Plus. Now, they have released a new clip which features Batman getting transported to the time of the Samurai.
Batman Ninja’s PlayStation 4 release will be on April 24. Meanwhile, ANN started streaming a different clip for the movie, this time featuring Batman fighting some samurai.
Well, just Batman being Batman I guess. Here’s how Warner Bros. describes the movie’s story:
Batman Ninja takes a journey across the ages as Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine transports many of Batman’s worst enemies to feudal Japan – along with the Dark Knight and a few of his allies. The villains take over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions. As his traditional high-tech weaponry is exhausted almost immediately, Batman must rely on his intellect and his allies – including Catwoman and the extended Bat-family – to restore order to the land, and return to present-day Gotham City.
The anime will be having a theatrical release in Japan on June 15, 2018. But before that, it will have an international digital release on April 24. It will then be released on both Blu-ray and DVD on May 8, 2018.
