It’s certainly been some time since Fairy Tail ended, but it seems that mangaka Hiro Mashima is as busy as ever. In his twitter page, the mangaka revealed that he’s not just working on a Fairy Tail spin-off and an original work. He admitted that he’s also working on a different and unnamed project, which he says is “still a secret”.

In the tweet, the mangaka admits he’s currently still confused as he’s working on three projects at the same time. He also stated that “ideas emerge one after another” for his new manga.
As for his original work, the one that is not the “secret project,” it will debut in Weekly Shounen magazine. To be exact, it will make its debut on the magazine’s 30th issue, which Kodansha will release on June 27, 2018. This follows up his announcement last December, where he teased a few details about his work. He previously said that this new manga will be:
- It will be a new form of fantasy
- Jokes will be quite challenging
- Much like Rave Master and Fairy Tail, Plue will be appearing too!
During New Year’s Eve, Mashima tweeted that he’s working hard to get a new serialization this year. of course, that created a frenzy of speculation among fans about his next manga work.
Mashima launched Fairy Tail back in 2006, and never looked back. His manga ran for over 10 years, which is really something, as most manga don’t even last more than five issues. As of now, this latest manga still remains a huge mystery, and only time will tell what it will be about.
