Update: Added teaser visual

After years of speculations, it’s finally happening! We’re getting a live-action Gundam movie! During Sunrise’s Anime Expo panel presentation in Los Angeles, California, Sunrise President & CEO Yasuo Miyakawa dropped the huge bombshell. Yes folks, it looks like Ready Player One was just a teaser, because they’re really making a live-action Gundam movie!

Sunrise is collaborating with Legendary Pictures for this project and even played a teaser video which stated that the “co-production has begun”. Both companies are also collaborating on the movie’s story as well.

Legendary’s Executive Vice-President of Production Cale Boyter and Bandai Namco Holdings President and Representative Director Mitsuaki Taguchi appeared during the event as well. However, they didn’t make any further announcements regarding the movie. It looks like we would have to wait a little bit more for further details about this live-action Gundam movie.

Oh, and better expect even more GunPla plastic models because Bandai loves making them…
