Nintendo Switch is finally having its first main-line Pokemon game with Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. And now, the official Pokemon YouTube channel has started streaming a brand new trailer for the games. It introduces a few new details, as well as reintroducing a few familiar faces like Brock and Misty.
The video reveals the customization options for the game, including the fact that you can change your Pokemon’s hairstyles. And that’s not all, because it seems that the Ride feature from Sun and Moon is also back! And of course, there’s also the usual features like trade and gym battles.
Set in Kanto, the games are set around the story of the original Yellow Version game, where Pikachu is the starter Pokemon. And much like other main line games, there are Pokemon unique to the Pikachu version that aren’t found in the Eevee version, and vice versa.
The Pokemon Company also revealed that players can use only one Joy-Con controller in both Single-Player and Cooperative. They can even use it to catch Pokemon by flicking it, much like what you’d do with a Pokeball.
Players can even take Pokemon from Pokemon GO and transfer it to either Let’s Go Eevee or Let’s Go Pikachu. And speaking of Pokemon GO, the mobile game also inspired the new games’ capture mechanic, which makes use of the Joy Con’s motion controls. But if you want that Pokeball experience, they’re also releasing the Pokeball Plus. This new accessory will allow trainers to catch Pokemon in the two games, as well as take Pikachu outside your house.
The announcement video also revealed new game mechanics, such as the co-op function, which is the first time any core Pokemon game has featured a cooperative multiplayer function. It will feature all 151 original Gen-1 Pokemon, from Bulbasaur to Mew. This means that Pokemon is going back to its roots while trying out new stuff and other mechanics.
The Pokemon Company will release both games for the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018.
