Adult game developer, MINK, is one of the most famous names in the Japanese adult gaming industry. Some of their works even got adult anime adaptations like Night Shift Nurses and Sin Sorority. However, their representative director, Toshihiro Abiru, announced that their company will be shutting down soon.

Abiru noted that the company judged that it was “no longer our time,” and added that he would be happy if people thought of the company as one of the industry’s cornerstones.

The company has been making adult-themed visual novels and games since 1993, churning out many of the industry’s hits. It is just the latest in a string of Japanese video game companies and anime studios that are shutting down this year. One of the most recent ones includes the animation studio, Drop, which is now filing for bankruptcy.
