Announcement: Figurine shops have had enough of errant customers
Apr 6th, 09 03:50 PM #1
I don't want to do this but supplier and I are already at our limits with customers taking their own sweet time collecting their orders and dragging others with them.
Suppliers are fed up and have told me to post an ultimatum, and honestly, so am I. We are getting sick of excuses for delaying collection and more than half of the last 2 week's orders remain uncollected. Times are bad, but errant and slow collection is making things hard for us and the supplier.
With this I have posted the ultimatum they gave. If by this Wednesday orders remain uncollected, I will cease all future orders of Figurines. The deposits alone barely allow us to pay and let supplier break even, and we are NOT the only store being faced with customers who delay their collections.
In the worst case scenario, all future orders will be canceled as well. (Deposits will be refunded) and we will redirect you to other stores who will are able to takeover your preorders (at higher rates in a worse case scenario).
Yup, errant buying and collecting has finally pissed off our supplier both local and overseas. Congratulations my dear Singaporeans, your very actions brought this about.
As for punctual and regular customers who have fulfilled their orders. We thank you, and apologize that if by Wednesday 8/4 the errant ones still refuse to fulfill their orders, we cease all sales of Figurines that are yet to come. Honestly, with the attitudes some are giving, I'm finding selling our other merchandise alot more profitable. That I dare say.
And its not only us, in the next few months, other figure shops will follow the same path.

Sigh, I was fearing this would happen, after seeing the figurines piling up at BTech...
But for it to happen before Yami arrives and in the year of Saber Lily, Fate and Narika = T_T...

I talked to TnT's boss, one of our distro, this I dare say. He is NOT happy with errant customers. My shop isn't the only one.
There is a very immediate solution for the next shipment (Haruhi and Reinforce Zwei, that is everyone who ordered transfers full payment to us BY Wednesday and I pay him off and he cools down.
He is pissed because almost every retailer out there is in the same situation, only to pay deposits collected and remaining amount 1 to 2 weeks later.
The problem is the Japanese side demands FULL Payment on their side before they ship, he can't pay if he doesn't have the full amount. In fact he can't get any preorders if customers aren't fast in collecting. In simple Singaporeans terms: No Money. No Talk (or in this case, new Figurines)
Yes, even deposits now isn't helping.

Hmms.
Set deposits to minimum 50% of the cost price?
If still don't pay up the full amount after the deadline?
Deposit is forfeited, and the order shall be considered canceled.
No queries will be entertained after that.
So what am I? I'm just a health nut that runs a yakitori stand.

Tempted to do that lor.
TnT's boss is a very patient and nice guy. However customers from all shops recently have been half arsed about their orders and to succeed in actually make him request I do this as a warning, Singaporean Figure collectors, you all damn power.

At least those buggers who tries to violate the rule, will obviously get a taste of it. So what am I? I'm just a health nut that runs a yakitori stand.

So far our regulars are very good and have already made full payments in advance.
And as i stated, Deposits alone these days are not enough. Especially if in the end they don't collect fast enough. The Japanese demand immediate payment, and TNT boss is at wits end stalling them for all the shops he supply too. The amount every shipment that comes in can reach 5 figures EVERY shipment. Errant customers are causing loss of earning for shops in the tens of thousands every WEEK if they delay or take their time to collect. That is a true FACT.
Customer is king? Does not apply here. Alot of Singaporeans let that thinking get to their heads and make them complacent. I think its time to drill a new one into them.
Customer is King only if they pay and are prompt in doing so, otherwise they have NO SAY.

Your orders are all cleared liao for the past payments, but future orders not yet come might have problems. Just take note.
Supplier is a really nice guy, but times have pushed him to the extreme liao. Everyone needs to play their part. :/

For some reason, i have been seeing more collectors selling their deposit slips over the internet. Time is really bad now i guess. With the end-user not being able (or taking their own sweet time) to pay for the pre-ordered goods, shops are unable to pay the supplier.
i dun think it's just limited to figurine sales right now.
I'm will waiting for my yummy yami.... and should i get awakened moka? haizz

Those of you have responsibly collected your stuff, thank you, you all have been good.
The decision of TNT boss is final, and he ships 80% of our Figures, so ultimately, this situation only came to be because of irresponsible customers. Of course some of us retailers as well as workers at TNT don't really agree with stronghand methods, but the market here now is as such, and unless you all like the thought of no longer being able to buy locally and only from online retailers like hobby Japan by all means continue with the bad customer attitudes.
Honestly, if the worst case scenario happens and customers still heck care and less shops sell figures, I will quit collecting figures myself. Personally as a collector myself, this bochap attitude by the majority (yes, MAJORITY) of collectors here in Singapore is making me as a collector, feel disgusted.
Golden Darkness is next week (its out liao). But at the rate things are going...

SW: you both a supplier and a collector!
Somehow i think BT is the only real commercial entity that i see with an attitude. Like, which shop in singapore will have their bosses sign up in a forum, making lots of contacts while at the same time QQ-ing on their customers OPENLY.
It's kinda unusual but at the same time, truthfully tells us that bosses are still normal humans trying damn hard to make ends mid. I like the BT for being frank and sincere regarding the situation. Public relation isn't just appeasing the customers. But also to educate the customers on the situation.
