    Odex is selling anime figures!

    Spotted big (covered almost half the box ) and obnoxious "Distributed by Odex" stickers on the "Pu Pu Pu Netsuke Fullmetal Alchemist" super-deformed little keychain trading figures series. The individual boxes are a long and rectangular (small width to length ratio), and have lots of red on them (I can't find images of the box on the net).

    When I asked the shop assistant why there was an obnoxious "Distributed by Odex" sticker on the box, I was told that the sticker is meant to show the distributor company to act as an assurance that the figures are authentic - though I doubt that any "Odex sticker" is assurance of authenticity at all; it's more like an assurance of dubious quality. I mean just look at the quality of their VCDs and the lame excuses they gave for their unforgivable actions.
    (Downloaders were wrong, but so was Odex. You can't argue that downloading is 100% right unless you actually support the producers in some way - merchandise, etc.)

    I do not know how it will affect the shop selling the figures that Odex brought in to Singapore if I name the shop (the shop isn't doing anything criminal), so I will not mention the shop name as yet. Though I will let you know if you PM me individually.

    Yea I guess distributing figurines is better than the acts of fleecing 9-year-old kids, acting like they are on high moral ground (when they are not) and gloating over the gullible they cheated and exhorted money from, lying in our faces many many times like we are idiots, giving moot and laughable reasons for their poor subtitles.

    But I will never ever support them for the simple fact that they have not made any effort to apologize, made amends and most importantly to perform the simple gesture of returning ALL the money (which is a shitload of dirty money) that they conned from the gullible people.     If we support Odex in any way, we are just condoning their malicious acts and encouraging future perpetrators to try similar con-jobs - just like the Phone Scam Artists that appeared in Oct 2007, one month after Odex started its farce. Those Phone Scam Artists probably learned from Odex's methods given their highly similar modus operandi.

    Btw just curious, do u shop for toys at Plaza Sing?

    They should be an anime product distro that sponsor anime telecasting long ago... rather than an anime distro...

    I will buy as long as it attracts me, quality is good and price is reasonable.

    IMO they should not try to manufacture any anime products(like their anime shirts in STGCC), they should just distribute ready made original anime products...

    Seriously, even if it's not expensive, you guys are willing to buy it, knowing fully well that it will indirectly fund ODEX?

    If nobody buys things distributed by ODEX, shops will tend not to bring in anymore merchandise distributed by ODEX, and hence, ODEX will not be earning money anymore.

    Yeah, sure, we might give inconveniences to the shops initially in terms of profits lost, but still, if the shops knew any better, these wouldn't even be brought in.

    Anything to deprive ODEX of the very thing the bloody money-hungry pigs are after, yes?

    imagine them releasing....say Yui from K-on....since its quite popular now imagine if they sell plenty of K-on stuffs when they havent lisenced it or released it...
