I've reappeared after a year of disappearance. Dun ask for details.

Here's some facts that I've got. Either directly or indirectly related to Odex or fansubs

A month ago, one of my friends, not a S'porean, got fined by Odex, for Code Geass and D.gray man. Issues that I am unhappy with are...

1. They fined him for downloading in Feb, Mar.
WTH, is odex crazy or what, fining ppl for things that happen ages ago. He did not get fined for downloading anything recent at all. Even though there was a whole bunch of them that he downloaded. So stopping does not mean you won't get fined.

2. Ok, if you guys are just wondering what those ppl in Odex will brainwash you with, here is just some spoiler. They tell you all the cause, and only the negative effects.
Go pay more attention to the news and all. Not so much on just the anime community, but overseas online papers, eg. the US. You'll have a diff point of view.

3. If it wasn't for Fansubs, I wouldn't have spent over a thousand on Gundam Models, nearly a hundred on Saber ( Fate Stay Night ) Figurines, would not go to comics connection and spend at least $10 a week and spending over $150 on my cosplay costume. Not to mention my cosplay Costume in progress, which already cost me $50.

4. If it wasn't for Fansubs, I wouldn't have made my comeback in YuGiOh.
Yes, If I didn't know about the GX series, I found my deck which was burried under piles of stuff and renewed it with new cards.

5. If it wasn't for fansubs, I would not have ordered boxes of animes from overseas.

6. If it wasn't for fansubs, I would not be making extra pocket money by selling Chibi commisions of anime chars. To begin with, my drawing skills would not be of this level if not for fansubs, providing me with enough reference to follow and touch up my skill.

7. If it wasn't for fansubs, I wouldnt be engrossed with mecha fansubs and end up as the first in school doing 3D animation with a mecha theme for O-level art. In addition I wouldn't have spend tons of $ on Copic markers

8. Would so many cosplay events even be organized if fansubs were gone? Obvious answer.

9. If it wasn't for fansubs, I would not be inport YUI ( Bleach - Rolling Star ) and Kotoko ( Shakugan No Shana - Believe ) music CDs from Japan.

10. The lisenced list for Singapore is super outdated. As at this time when I post, on the lisence page states 'Updated : 25 May 2007' Which today is the 14th of Aug.


One thing is for Sure. I BOYCOTT ODEX.

I applaude your passion, unfortunately ODEX thinks there are too many people who just watches and do not spend in any other ways.

Sadly their system does not make a difference between these freeloaders and supportive fans. All are gunned down =/

I wasn't sure at first, but with that last post, Vectors you've given yourself away. Lind.L.Taylor must be the duplicate account of Vectors.

I've been observing the online offline status of Vectors and Lind.L.Taylor and seems Vectors is online all the time but Lind.L.Taylor isn't.

Lind.L.Taylor should be logged in because it is obvious he is browsing around. He made 19 posts within the last 20 mins. But he is always logged out while Vectors is always online.

If u wanna troll, pls go somewhere else. Really damn irritating.
