Good day to everyone.

We come with some serious news. STAC is dissolving. This means the end of Kouhaku in June, and our EOY convention in December. This will take effect immediately.

For those who wonder about their membership cards, don't. The $2 you paid, along with the amount we collected this year from the event, just barely managed to cover paying for the entire EOY event in 2008. In short, we just barely broke even.

As some have surmised, STAC has been struggling to find new talent to helm the team when the current committee became too old to carry on. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anyone who wasn't equally as busy as us. Considering STAC has always been a volunteer club, people here juggle school, work, and other committments while preparing the events.

As some have also heard, it's become increasingly tough for STAC to maintain (let's not even talk about expand) the events. Financing has also become a problem - especially when we want to avoid commercialism. Because we're a group that wants to cater to fans directly - be they doujin circles, aspiring dollfie owners or others.

Because of these, and other reasons which we prefer not to go into, we've had to come to the sad decision to pull the plug.

That's really it. We hope others can come in to fill the void we'll inevitably leave behind, and we wish everyone in the scene the best of luck.

oh no.... tt's such a sad thing...... i understand it's hard to maintain such big scale event esp those killing rents.... but thanks for all the effort so far..... *bow bow*

...As what I've said, STAC really shouldn't, but as somebody who isn't in the organisation, i guess i can only accept this.
EOY is a brand already, what a waste, and i've had booth there for de past 6 years, the emotional value and potential for the community is hard to estimate as well.
Is there anything to add on, besides no more EOY? anyone to take over the organisation of an end of year event?
It's just a pity, really.
Still i appreciate you guys for the effort year after year. Alot of ppl didn't want to pay to get inside, and i thought how is the rental of EXPO gonna be covered then... it's hard.

My thanks goes not just to the STAC members but also the old MAC members. Thank You. This hobby created a lot of happy and memorable life changing experiences for me. So much so that I actually think I pretty much wouldn't have become who i am if not for the hobby.


Thank You, for putting up with our unreasonable demands.
Thank You, for slogging your weekends away for some of us who refuse to pay a mere $12 while some of you had to fork out much more from your own pockets
Thank You, for holding onto the event with such burning passion that in turn, inspired many others.
Thank You, for giving my otherwise boring life something different and special to look forward to.


I'm sure you're already getting tired of this but seriously, Thank You.
I will really really miss the event and the many familiar faces behind it =\

Thank you STAC and even the old MAC for all your hard work maintaining your status as a FAN EVENT all these years.
Having the patience to listen to all the unreasonable demands/requests.
For keeping entrance fees at $12 all this while even if it meant struggling to make ends meet every EOY and still having to deal with people who refuse to pay.
Thanks for dealing and remaining as civil as you can with m****s who can't see reason or logic.

Well I guess this means I can start to seriously consider quitting event cosplay LOL! I'll miss EOY and performing at EOY =( It's been a great 8 years.

Sheesh...just when I was telling my friends today that I felt that EOY was probably the only event which I feel had the right "cosplay event" feel...sighz...

Screw it I shall say one last thing. Even MORE thanks to all those who pushed STAC to make this difficult decision. The rest of us really appreciate your "efforts" at destroying a long time tradition as well. =)
