Well, you see, if you were going to put a pic in your signature space, would you rather put a pic of character with a plain white background OR a pic of a character with a background that seems just made for it, as well as having effects that help blend the character in, and your name on it? Well, of course, any normal person would choose the latter. And that's what GFX is for. In short, customising a character pic and making it into your own style. Of course, there are signatures with no character pics in them, but I don't make those.
