I guess I was right in that your friend wasn't representing you. Anyway you can check my previous post, I've got explicitly stated that I will not be entertaining anymore requests by proxy, and this is the perfect case of busybody-ness. Like I told your friend, I'll take it down if you would request personally, and because it's none of his business to presume to speak on your behalf.

But if I know it, of course have to request it to be taken down regardless I know the person or not ya? After all I do not surf the whole of WWW in a day requesting everyone to take down my photos as if I am a stalker or similar. But to me its just feels weird and scary to see my own face all around internet. Hope you understand. Cheers.
In this case, you can only blame your friend for letting you know about people posting your photo here, else you wouldn't have to go through all this trouble. Warped logic, don't you think, that if you didn't know about it'll be better.

Anyway I think it's better for you to totally retire from cosplaying, at least in public. You shouldn't even pose for any photos. Even if you don't pose for any photos, and your photo was taken, you have absolutely no rights over the photos anymore, only to request and hope for the best. Cheers. Sorry to see 1 less cosplayer.

Well last year, the complaint by the newpaper reporter + photog was that the lady in charge wearing a green costume made them follow her all around the whole place for a good 60min. They spent 60min trying to interview her, but everytime she would tell them "hold on" and then run off to take photos with other people. After 60min of hearing "hold on" and watching her take photos, the team left for another assignment, and ended up writing a report based on the press release.

Well that's Really BAD ... reminds me of a bollywood superstar interview that I read in newspaper. Each pressmen is only given 5 minutes to interview.

Some M'sian pressmen was forfeited that time slot when the star received a call in his handphone and right after talking for 5 minutes, the pressmen was forced to end the interview...nothing was interviewed anyway. The time was lost to that stupid phone call. BleHHHHH!!!!

Ok...Thanks iamacow for the info.

But then again.. "What u dun know cant hurt u.." is ur mantra.. for now... Play it Right, Play it Safe... I hope I wont see u cosplaying in public anytime soon. If not, there is really something amiss with u...

My personal opinion is that both the equipment as well as the photographer that makes the difference.

It takes a good photographer to FULLY utilise the plethora of functions a good professional camera has.

Especially if you're talking about totally different classes of equipment.

Maybe some cosplayers wanted their picture removed because they felt it was an unflattering, bad photo.

Some other people seem to plain enjoy being in photos regardless.

A question of taste, probably.

Hihi. Just to speak up for my friend Orphe about her situation in case you misunderstand anything. She's not coming back to this forum anymore.

Basically, once photos are taken and posted up in forums, cosplayers have the rights to request it to be taken down since some photographers are nice enough to mention that they can take down their photos right? Some cosplayers wear it during events coz they want to join in the fun instad of having photos taken. Ok unless cameramen request then they might agree though abit unwillingly. Its not strange to know that there ARE people who like to wear costumes but do not like their photos taken by strangers right?

But for Orphe's case, she was posing for one of her friends and later other bunch of people came and snapped away. As for whether you asked permission or not, I have no idea but if she agreed(its rude and sometimes hard to reject photographers even if you really want to avoid the cameras sometimes. Some photographers will give you the 'tsk' look when you tried to run away from them.) and you snapped away, fine I nothing to say. But if you post it and she request you(directly or indirectly) take it down and keep in your computer folder, everything will be fine and there's really no need to add any extra sentences even if you are trying to let eveyone see the nice photos you have taken . It makes you sounds you are unwillingly to take the photo down since you said cosplayers are allowed to approach you and request it to be taken down. Directly or indirectly, you cant expect her to go to every single forum, sign up a one-post acc to tell the person and take her photo down right? lll

Anyway basically, Orphe is a shy girl and you can't blame her for that right? She attend cosplay events in her costume so as to join in the fun and is prepared to have her photos taken here and there.(whether she know or not) But she also has the right to request it to be taken down since she can't go around and and nag all the cameramen to not post it on the net right? C'mon..she not superwoman ya? Be a gentlemen and understand ya? No hard feelings around ok? Things are not as complicated as you are think.

I have the right to NOT take down the pics too u know, hahah, so even if they dont take it down, u cant have any hard feelings against them either since u posed for it and knowing these pics will definately be somewhere on the net. Pose for a friend? Go for a private shoot. Very shy? doubt so since she is able to dress up in costume in a major public event where massive attendance is expected. If you dont like to reject ppl then forget bout goin to these events coz you're gonna die of unwillingness syndrome.

PS:There is no hard feelings here, just to let u guys know that please think before u do such stuff, photographers come from various places with all their heavy equipment for u guys, if everytime this kinda thing happen, pic posted up, everyone request taking it down, soon cosplayers are gonna be labelled with "Private photos only". Don't take photographers for granted.
