AUDITION UPDATE!!!

AUDITIONS UPDATE!!!
For those of you who have been unable for whatever reasons to attend our previous week's audition and this coming week (22nd)'s one, we have good news for you.

There will be one. FINAL. Audition on the 29th. Tentatively, we're looking to re-book the CCK CC room that will be used this week (Please refer to the directions earlier posted)

If you can't make it down this saturday 22nd either, then that will be your final chance to come perform!

Some Q&A
Why does STAC have auditions? Why not just let everyone sing/dance/perform?
The simple reason is that even though we're a for-fans, by-fans group, somewhere along the line, there has to be some QC (Quality Control).

The last thing you and I want is some godawful rendition of *insert song here* (Because, ya know, my msn/LJ/SGCafe Inbox/PRstac inbox etc will never hear the end of it either from complaints)

So, to make it fair to YOU, the con-goer, we do auditions. If the person hasn't prepared, is just simply bad, etc, then they won't make it, saving you, me and them heartpain, embarrassment, and a host of other issues.
It also helps find those who are truly willing to sing and not just thinking "oohh maybe" ;)

So if you haven't signed up for performances because you just couldn't make it for the two dates we have, here's your chance!

Booth Registration & Performance Auditions

Booth Registration
Please ensure you read the rules before registering for a booth. Signing up for a booth is equivalent to agreeing to our terms and conditions.

Closing Date: 3rd November
Booth Registration is now: CLOSED

Please note that commercial booths cannot register for a booth this way. Commercial booths can only enter our event via sponsorship. Please email prstac AT gmail DOT com for more information if you are interested to attend.

Auditions (For Performance)
For those who are attending auditions, you will need to register twice (Once to sign up, another within the logged-in area) at the registration site at our website. If you know which date you are attending for the audition, please also list it down. Failure to register will mean you will be put dead last on the audition dates for your turn!

There will be TWO audition dates this year. Choose one and make it down.

First audition on Saturday, November 15
Location: *rm-LR-W4A (Lecture Room – 178px/Lvl 01), Republic Poly
Time: 3pm-6pm

The second is a week later, on 22nd November.
Location: Block 341 (Lam Soon CC’s Activity Room)Map
How to get there: Walk across the main road from Choa Chu Kang MRT.
Here's a Map!
Time: 3pm-6pm

Details:
- Please bring along your CD music. If your song is in mp3 format, please burn it to cd format (Most, if not all, burning software should do this automatically)
- If at all possible, please bring the karaoke (no vocals) version. We want to hear YOU sing.
- Performances are also a part of this. If you are going to stage a short play or what not that is NOT part of the competition, this is where you go for auditions as well.
- Singers can sing up to 3 songs. But please note that just because you sing more, it does not give you a greater chance than someone singing 1 song for "getting in" to perform at the event!
- If you can't decide what to sing by then [strikethrough]You may be in trouble[/strikethrough] you are allowed to sing another song. However, we will judge on the general closeness of the songs. E.g. Singing Trinity blood's "Broken wings" which is a very high pitched, slow song, cannot compare favorably with a final song that is fast paced such as, say, "Ready steady go" from Full Metal Alchemist. If you choose to do this, we MAY have you re-audition.
- For types of songs, it can be ANYTHING as long as it is Japanese. J-pop, J-trance, techno, anime, j-rock, drama, etc.
