Hi everyone!! We, the Japanese Tsubasa Club in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, are proud to present, SOY cosplay’08: “The Beginning”!!! And yes, SOY is pronounced as soy in soy bean, but we ain’t related to any soy products. SOY means Start Of Year as it should be the first cosplay event of the new year. And why “The Beginning” ?It is due to the fact that, this will be the first standalone cosplay event that we are hosting. We hope to make this a yearly or bi-yearly event, so please come down in your costumes or with your cameras and support us. Some details about the event: It is a FREE event. NO entry fees and it is open to all! You dun need to be a student from Ngee Ann to come and join in!! There will be a solo and group cosplay competition. And there will be prizes!!! And like any other Cosplay events, there will be booths set up for rent. There will be a bag storage system so you can drop off your bags with us while you have fun at the event, but note that there will be a fee for the bag storage, details in the time to come. deadline for registrating a booth is on the 15th Jan 08. 12 noon It may close earlier if all the booths are taken up. 04/12/07: Rules and Regulations [LATEST] [UPDATED:22/12/07] 1.1 Basic house Rules * ANY unlawful acts such as vandalizing of school properties, theft and etc will be handed over to school disciplinary, campus security or the police. * Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Japanese Tsubasa Club will NOT be liable for any loss or damage of belongings E.g. merchandise, costume, props, dollfies, bags, etc during the event. * NO explicit photography is allowed. E.g. Hentai/yaoi/yuri * Punctuality would be appreciated if you have signed up for competitions. Involved parties are encouraged to register at least 30 minutes before the allocated time slots. JTC has the rights to disqualify any late comers unless it is due to technical problems on our side. * There will be rooms prepared to store belongings. The rates are not finalized yet but will be in the range between $2 to $3. • No smoking at the event area and in NP campus. ------------------------------ 1.2 Booths: To register for a booth please submit the registration form [click here] to this email: pr[at]soy-japtsubasa[dot]net deadline: 14th Jan 2008 [Monday], 2359 hours • There are 2 type of rental booths. o Type A: retail booths, eg. Selling doujin, dollifies, food, second hand products o Type B: Exhibit booths, eg. Dollifies exhibit. Figures/ models exhibit, Photoshoot Booth. • Each Type A: retail booth comes with: - 1 table (130 cm X 61 cm) - 2 chairs - 1 panel board (122cm X 122cm) • Each Type B: exhibit booth comes with: - 1 table (130 cm X 61 cm) - - 2 chairs • The rental fees for the booths are: o Type A: retail booths : SG $20 o Type B exhibit booths: SG $10 * Maximum of 2 tables is allowed for each tenant. * Due to space constraints, booths are available at first come first serve basis * Rental Fees to be made in person or bank transfer to POSB saving account * Extra tables and chairs are not allowed due to space constraints. * Selling of explicit goods is not allowed. * No sales are allowed to take place in exhibit booths. If officials spotted any exhibit booth selling any goods, owner will have to top up another $20 or force to vacant the booth. * NP & JTC will not be accountable for booth’s profit and loss. * NP & JTC shall not be liable for any loss/ damaged/ illegal goods of any sort. * For safety measures, there should always be someone manning the booths. * Should there be any drastic changes in the nature of business of your booth please send us an early notice as they may be a need to relocate your booth. E.g. Changes: books à food * Anyone found infringing the rules shall be immediately escorted out of NP premises. Person particulars will be noted and disciplinary action will be taken if deemed necessary. * JTC has the right to make any changes without prior notice. -------------------------- 1.3 Cosplay • Dressings of Lolita, punk is not encouraged unless it represents a character, but you are welcome to come for the event. • No hentai/ yaoi/ yuri behaviour or acts are allowed. -------------------------- 1.4 Cosplay Competition: To register for the competition please email the registration form to this email: pr[at]soy-japtsubasa[dot]net Registration forms: Individual: [click here] Group: [click here] deadline: 14th of Jan 2008 [monday] 2359 hours • No entry fees will be charge for the competition registration. • There are 2 categories for the Cosplay competition: Individual and Group competition. • Both are separate Competition • Cosplayers can join both categories. • Special requests are to be stated in the registration form. • Only cosplay of Japanese games/anime/manga characters is allowed to join. No Lolita, punk or etc unless it is a cosplay of a character wearing the stated. • A trial as well as an Audition on the 19th of Jan 2008. Please make yourself free on that day. • RULES for the following categories: Single Competition Time Limit: Max of 5 mins Group Competition Time limit: Max of 10 mins Min. number of cosplayers is 2. • Outfits must be relevant to the theme “ Japanese” (i.e. games/ anime/ manga) • Contestants can sing or perform a skit/ dance etc. • No explicit performance (e.g. yuri/ yaoi/ hentai) for audience’s concerns • Music must be in MP3 format burn into CD • If music is a mixture of several songs, please compile into one music file before sending to us to avoid any disruption of your performance. • On the actual day of event, a backup CD on your side is encouraged for any unforeseen circumstances. Prizes: o Group Cat.: 1st prize :$100 Kinokuniya voucher Runner up: $80 Kinokuniya voucher o Individual cat.: 1st prize: $50 Kinokuniya voucher Runner up: $30 Kinokuniya voucher o Crowd favourite: Kinokuniya $20 voucher • ALL INFORMATION above are correct at the date of posting. ------------------------- 1.5 Photography • The NP atrium is quite dark if the sky is overcast / cloudy. Please bring your own flash. • Photography is not limited to the event areas. Shooting outside the areas are at your own risk. • Please seek permission from the cosplayers before taking any photos. • Cosplayers have the right to deny requests for photo-taking. • NP and JTC do not disregard professional photographers and/or commercial entities offering their business cards. Should you decide to accept the cards, we claim NO responsibility for what may happen. • Attempts to take unlawful photographs (E.g. upskirt, voyeur etc.), if discovered, will be handed to the police. If you see anyone attempting the above, please report to the JTC officials or helpers. ------------------------- 1.6 Performances: • Deadline: 14th of Jan 2008 [monday] 2359 hours • To register for a slot to peform. Email to pr[at]soy-japtsubasa[dot]net •What is considered as a performances? eg. 1.mass dance, 2. anything that need the use of the stage. 3. panels/forums. •If you have planned/ going to do something like this at SOY, please register with us. •Any quires, email to pr[at]soy-japtsubasa[dot]net ------------------------- 1.7 Miscellaneous: • Screaming, swearing and any bad behaviour is actively discouraged; please take note of your conduct within the event and campus premises. • Keep the NP campus clean and dispose your trash in the bins provided. • Keep the toilets clean at all time for the consideration of others such as washing out hair dyes, etc. In the circumstance of any clogged basins please approach the JTC to rectify the situation. • Necessary weapon props must be blunt otherwise no sharp items such as weapon props as it may cause potential injury to the public. • Explosive devices or objects are prohibited within our event. INDIVIDUALS: As we have 5 individual Entries, there will be 1st and runner up prize for that category. The crowd favourite award is only for the 5 individuals. First of all, Japanese Tsubasa Club regrets to inform everyone that there will be a change in venue due to the unexpected occurance of the Joint Admissions Exercise [JAE]. The information was only disseminated to us today and immediate planning and actions were taken due to the limited time frame. The venue will be changed to LT 26. Please be assured that there will be ushers located at the school bus stop to assist you to the actual location. We sincerely apologise for inconvenience and hope to seek for your understanding. Great news ! Upz for you ! Great to see another Cosplay event being organised ^^ I see there were some people wearing sub-culture fashions like punk , lolita etc to other cosplay events. do you guys allowed that too ? thanks
