| Post-Crazy Member  |  STAC EOY 08 is HERE If you're reading this, you probably have an inkling on what Kheldar's about to post. So why waste time? Welcome once again everyone to THE event you all wait for more than the Christmas presents hiding underneath the tree.... STAC's EOY 2008! It's pretty amazing to all of us that EOY has been with us in Singapore for a DECADE now. That's right folks, this is the 10th anniversary of Shiro Tsubasa Animation Club (Formerly known as Miyuki Animation Club for the old timers to wipe tears of joy) and we're going to be celebrating in style! How stylish? Really stylish. We're rewinding the clock all the way back to 1999, when we first started our event here in Singapore, for our theme of RETRO ANIME FEVER! Why? Because sometimes it's good to look beyond the razzmajazz that is the amazing animes and mangas we have today and look back on old classics. To that end, those (We're not quite sure if we're going to limit it to the first 100 yet, but we're aiming for everyone!) who comes in a costume, or is selling doujins from 1999 and earlier will get a little something special planned for them. We're excited about it, but we had to promise to sign agreements not to let the cat outta the bag, so you'll have to wait on what we got. Who can forget coming in old time costumes like Final Fantasy VII (The ORIGINAL stuff!) Flame of Recca, Comic Party, or even JOJO's Bizarre Adventure! We know we can't. So bring back the good times for our 10th anniversary! Don't panic reading this though. We obviously love our current animes as much as we do our retros, so if for some reason you have your costumes all ready to go for EOY, it's not like we're going to turn you away from the door! Details: Date: 13th December (Saturday) Location: Singapore Expo Convention Halls A-F Time: 11am to 7pm Price: $10 for members, $12 for non-members. If you're worried about it clashing with CosFiesta, it won't. New Updates Auditions FINISHED Art Competition Theme: Retro MAJOR UPDATE: DATE EXTENDED TO DEC 10 5pm BY GRACIOUS PRINTERS! Idea: You can draw any anime character or illustration you wish, but it must somehow clearly show a "retro" theme. For example, you could place the cast of Code Geass in Victorian dressing. Other options include sepia toning your work etc. Size: A3 OR A4 Submit to: prstac AT gmail DOT com with the title header "Art competition - *Insert your REAL NAME here* Within the email, besides giving us the picture attached, please also include your REAL NAME, AGE, HANDPHONE NUMBER and NICKNAME. Booth Registration CLOSED Cosplay Registration Closing date Dec 10th Please ensure you read the rules and conditions before registering for a competition. Note that only ONE person needs to sign up if you are signing up for a team/pair competition. However during your signup for the event please list down the name(s) contact details of team members. If you know how many people are in your team, please also list it down. Baggage Rules Baggage: - Please hold on to the tag that you receive from us when you put stuff in storage. Loss of stub requires a facility fee of $10 (As well as much hassle for both you and me) - Bags will be tagged and sealed in front of users to ensure safety. - STAC is not liable for any loss arising from damaged goods or loss of property. STAC will take all precautions to ensure security. - There is NO charge for using the storage facility. However, size limits may be imposed. - STAC reserves the right to refuse storage of goods. Misc - $10 for entry is ONLY open to: Members of participating schools with helpers (I.e. If your school club is helping us at EOY, those helping get a discount. What are you waiting for? Sign up with them now!) OR Members of STAC itself. This is NOT the same as membership at SGCafe (Premium membership). If you are NOT a STAC member you have to pay - $12 entry Open to everyone else not in the above. --- No bringing of sharp objects, potentially dangerous items such as pink aerosol bombs (Please don't laugh. I had to confiscate one last year) firestarters, smoke bombs etc. These WILL be confiscated and WILL NOT be returned. I repeat, IT WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU Even if the object is a blunt weapon, if it is used dangerously (Someone swinging it about helter skelter in the middle of a crowd for instance) it WILL be confiscated and not returned. There is NO room for negotiation on this. Begging will not help. Trust me, it just makes you look silly. And a little pathetic. If you are even anywhere close to wondering whether something may or may not be dangerous, STAC recommends that you bind up the weapon in some manner or do something to it to make it obvious it is a prop. For instance, paint the muzzle of a gun yellow, bind the katana to its sheathe, use tin foil instead of metal etc. Any damage to the property will be paid for by the perpetrators. Please be intelligent when doing your work. In the past we have had people dye their hair in the sink, leaving dye stains. We have had people spill indelible coloring onto a (very expensive) carpet. We have had people cutting their styrofoam items at Coffeebean and been complained about. Please do your bit to make the animation scene in Singapore a polite and gracious one by doing your bit! Please dispose of trash in the right place. If the trash can is full, please put it neatly next to the can. Please don't leave litter behind. At the end of the day, I have to send the poor helpers who are tired out and other STAC staff to clean up after you. For God's/Buddha's/Allah's/Krishna's/Scientology's sake and my own sanity, please clean up!
