The organizers for License2Play has approached MovieMania very recently only to help organise costume contest on 23 May 2009.

License2Play Event (22 to 24 May) at Suntec City Convention Hall 603
Event: Cosplay Competition
Date: 23rd May 2009 (Sat)
Time: 7pm to 9pm

Prizes: Cash prize of S$500, S$300, S$200 respectively for first 3 places

They also promised goodie bags for all contest participants.

COSCON MECHANICS

CosCon Activities for License2Play 2009

23 May 2009

-CosCon [7pm-9pm]

+ REGISTRATION
 Registration period will begin 1 May 2009
 Online Registration will be carried our on http://www.moviemania.com.sg/coscon@l2p.html will close on 22 May 2009, midnight.
 On-site Registration will be carried out on the 23 May at the Movie Mania Booth from 11am-7pm.

+ PRIZES (SINGLES CATEGORY)
 1st Prize: $500
 2nd Prize: $300
 3rd Prize: $200
 Prizes will be advertised as such on the website

+ JUDGING
 There will be a total of 3 Judges, Movie Mania will provide 1 Judge with extensive movie background, and the other 2 judges will be provided by the organizers or the prize sponsors.
 Judging will be based on the following breakdown

o Costume Accuracy 30%
o Role-play Accuracy 30%
o Performance Flair 20%
o Audience Response 20%

CONTEST
 Contestants are to ready 30mins before stage time (630pm).
 Contestants will be introduced on stage one at a time.
 Contestants will introduce themselves and the characters they’re cosplaying
 They will be given 10 secs to strike poses for the cameras and convince the judges to keep them for the 2nd round.
 Judges will be given some time to deliberate on which 10 contestants to keep.
 Contestants will be eliminated 2 at a time.

 The remaining 10 contestants will be given more stage time to act out their roles and impress both the judges and the audience.
 Judges will interact and eliminate contestants 1 at a time.



 With the 5 remaining contestants, the emcees will ask them the important question, “Why do you think you deserve to win?”
 Audience members will be asked for their response on each contestant which carry a 20% weightage on the final score
 Judges will retire and deliberate on the final 3 winners.
 Once the Judges made their decision, the contestants will be brought back to stage and the final winners announced.
