I was wondering, among the posts here occasionally someone would try suggesting some really good ideas. One of them is a library of legal DVD or shows that people can borrow for private showings. If we create a SG anime club it could grow the library and bring the DVD library to anime venues, like the cosplay event, university club showings, etc, for people to borrow and return from the library. Is any of the current uni clubs, i.e. NUS / NTU doing this? Or if not maybe we can do it ourselves? Who knows, there was a really interesting post about doing something about it, maybe we can register the club as a society. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/anime_club_singapore/ This would help fans who can no longer obtain anime legally since we're sharing resources for them to borrow it and any deposits/fees will be used towards the legal advancement of the anime community. If you're an officer maybe u can even learn how to run a club/company along the way or even put it in your resume |

Look.... why do that, when we can just donate anime titles to the NLB. Seriously: NLB needs more manga. And more anime titles. If we provide them with that, then we can the stuff we want, and Odex can't really get us. Hell, we could even donate Odex stuff to the library instead of burn them. Or better yet *suggestion deleted because it is a sneaky conniving trick that would get library users to see really good anime that is not ODEX quality or import expensive. PM Blackadder for more info.*

On another note, I propose that we ask the NLB if we could provide and donate free fansubs to the library, or even work that the library produce these subs that are strictly for library borrowing, as opposed to buying them. SOunds crazy... but could work. If not, there's stil.....*comment deleted. Like I said.... PM Blackadder* Libraries are 'piracy', at least to the mega book corporations. But the library is also the poor man's learning resource. My point ? Have a deep respect for your local library; it's a bastion of freedom.
