Well the first thing that came to mind was that they might try even harder (and fail harder) since the gov sometimes has the 'Malaysia Boleh, Singapore Tak Boleh' attitude spring up from time to time (actually most of the time but meh...).

I am Malaysian also.
Instead of dealing with the downloaders, i hope the government can put more effort on catching those thief, robber and rapist.
Even I stay in JB every weekend i go back i feel totally not safe at all, even stay in my house also like tat.

xedo is definitely not the cause of this. Rather it's "WIPO" or World Intellectual Property Organization that is the cause, as stated in the newspaper article.

Taken from WIPO website:
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property (IP) system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest.

I wouldn't worry so much if I'm a Malaysian. After all the country is so big, it'll be hard to enforce this treaty.

They can't even control their other crimes, much less IP crimes. Malaysian authorities are largely NATO.

Guys, you are not looking at the entire picture.

I'm sure this is one noble — but doomed (nobody read the Crusades ever, eh?) — attempt at combating piracy. But given the level of organized crime and the overall situation there, why should you even be bothered by this?
