Hello everyone. Welcome to The Aspiring Mangaka and Writers Club. ^^

Ever wondered when you can see your manga or novel on the bookshelves whenever you enter a comic shop or book store?

Aspire to be a mangaka or writer but don't know how or where to begin?

Already started on your manga or writing but want some honest opinions on how you can improve yourself?

You've come to the write place! =)

This Club is set up as a support network for those who aspire to be a mangaka or writer so come on in, have a cookie or two and join the discussions!

And please be serious about it. We came all the way from Anyone here thought of making official manga? (alright, so it was just a matter of clicks but you know what I mean. ^^) so we'll like to see members who are genuinely interested in joining a mangaka/writer group. This means no flaming or disrespectful remarks about someone's work. If you wish to comment, do so in a constructive way so the person can learn from the experience and hence become better.

Get your own portfolio online:

There are many reasons why one should have a portfolio. For one, it allows people to check out your work and in turn earn you commissions that could bring in some extra moolah or recognition. If you don't have a portfolio as yet, you can check out the following sites.

1) http://www.freewebz.com
2) http://www.deviantart.com
3) http://www.blogger.com
4) http://www.tokyopop.com
5) http://www.livejournal.com

However for artists, if you are hesitant/have no time to set up an elaborate portfolio, you can simply open a thread in the art section and deposit all your works there. Post your link here and we'll go there to have a stare. =)

To show just one post, just click on the post number on the top right hand corner. A new window will open with its unique url. Simply post that unique url on the thread.

To host your manga or comics, please refer to this post for more details.

For writers, you can simply post your writings here. However, my advice to all of you is to set up a portfolio asap as this can protect the copyright of your works to a certain extent.

If you're looking for a partner to collaborate with:

So you've joined the club and decided a particular member would be a great partner in your upcoming project. Please approach that particular member via PM instead of posting your intention in the thread as it could get pushed back and missed as a result.
