Yesterday Namco Bandai revealed the price and release date details for Idolmaster Shiny Festa through the first trailer for the game, shown first at the Idolmaster 7th Anniversary live concert (Day 1) in Japan.
Today was Day 2 of the concert. Namco Bandai once again brought out a trailer for the game but – surprise, surprise – it’s not the same trailer.
This one, entitled “1st PV (6/24 Ver)”, reveals that a three-episode Idolmaster Original Video Animation (OVA) would be included with the game – a different episode with each of the three versions (Honey Sound, Funky Note, and Groovy Tune), accessible from within the game.
As with the Idolmaster anime series, the OVA episodes will be produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Atsushi Nishigori.
Idolmaster Shiny Festa is a rhythm-action title, not unlike 2008’s Idolmaster: Live for You! (Xbox 360) or the Hatsune Miku Project Diva series, so you won’t need to be Japanese-literate to play the game comfortably. Each of the three versions of Shiny Festa features a separate collection of songs, putting the spotlight on four different idols per pack:
- Honey Sound – Haruka Amami, Chihaya Kisaragi, Ritsuko Akizuki, and Azusa Miura
- Funky Note – Yayoi Takahashi, Iori Minase, Hibiki Ganaha, and Ami/Mami Futami.
- Groovy Tune – Miki Hoshii, Yukiho Hagiwara, Takane Shijou, and Makoto Kikuchi
Idolmaster Shiny Festa goes on sale in Japan October 25 for 5,980 yen (retail UMD package) or 5,380 yen for a digital copy from the PlayStation store.
